The History of Napoleon.  Horne, R.H.  London 1840, 2 Vols., xii plus 379 Vol. I & Vol. II, 510pp., plus 28pp., The Second Funeral of Napoleon.  With 48 full page engravings and  several hundred B&W illustrations by Raffet and Horace Vernet.   Slight browning on one or two early pages and a small one inch damp stain at the top corner of one end page, otherwise in crisp, pristine condition.   Bound in fine modern three quarter black niger morocco with blind tooled edge borders, the spine with raised bands, gilt titles and decorative panels; complete  with marbled end papers. An exceptional set, rare in this condition.
