Napoleon Amboyna Burl Wood Box, c.1804.  This beautiful circular box, 3 1/8 x 1 1/8 inches, was made from the prized tropical Amboyna burl wood imported from Africa.  The lid features a silver plated profile of the newly crowned Emperor wearing a laurel wreath, and so probably dates the box to this period, c.1804.  A collector’s prize; rare.
