Le Jeune Garde Infantry Cross Belt and Cartridge Case, Briquet and Bayonet. This was the standard issue to infantry of the Grande Armee during the First Empire and although thousands were made, very few intact examples remain. The case is in good condition with the original cartridge box plate eagle and wood equipment liner. The briquet blade is well marked with Inspecteur stamps: K (Kranz), L (Lobstein) and B (Bick) and the backstrap Mfture Imple worn/erased 1812. The brass knucklebow is stamped B (Bisch) and VERSAILLES, and JC and G on the quillon. The original sword knot, scabbard and bayonet sheath have a brass tag stamped "40". The 51 inch white-dyed, deer skin cross belt straps include one original and one replacement. The cartridge box is 10 1/4"W x 7 1/4"H x 3 1/4"D, the Briquet is 30" long and bayonet 22 3/4" long sheathed.
