General Buonaparte Bilston Snuff Box.  This rare hand-colored transferware box was manufactured in the Bilston style before the end of the 18th Century, as it shows him wearing his General's uniform. The colorful box, 1 3/4 x 1 1/4 x 1 inch opens on a hinge at one end to reveal its original mirror, which is cracked and has lost much of the silver reflective coat.  The enamel shows some crazing but overall displays nicely.
