English Volunteer Infantry, c.1799. A rare figure. The soldier moving forward with knees bent, his musket and bayonet held in front as in a drill exercise. The red coat has blue collar, cuffs and wings outlined in white and white cross belts with a gilt Regimental badge attached at the front where they cross. He wears a ‘Tarelton’ hat (see Knotel p.257) with a black crest and white above red plume on the left. The paint is sound. G
