Colpack, Field Artillery Trompette, Duchy of Warsaw. Trumpeters were an elite and privileged group in any Napoleonic Regiment and the Armies of the Duchy of Warsaw followed this tradition to the full as this superb artifact shows. The fur covered colpack has brass and woolen trimmings and the materials used are: Fuller’s board, rabbit pelts, Belgium sheepskin, hempen cloth, woollen yarn, woollen broadcloth, worsted woollen cording, stamped brass and brass wire.
