Bonnet a Poil, Line Grenadier, c.1810. Recognized throughout Europe and referred to in many ways – Ourson, Bearskin or Bonnet a Poil (animal hair) the style was universally worn by Grenadiers. The details of plume, cords and decoration varied, and the front plate was a simple grenade as in the original period example used in this case. The superb Grenade emblem on the Crown is the most perfect replica of an original we have ever seen. The materials used are: Oak tanned cowhide, hair on goatskin, Belgium sheepskin, hempen cloth, worsted woollen cording and sheet brass. Reference: Rousselot, L'Armee Francaise.
