First Consul Bonaparte Snuff Box, c.1800.  This is a rare large snuff box of this early period.  There is some damp-staining on the hand colored engraving, but the detail of both face and uniform is remarkable nonetheless.  The cover appears to be mica, not glass, as there is crazing over the entire area. A rarely encountered example; 3 1/8 inches diameter.
