De Gallifet of France, in Mexico, 1866.
A rare and unusual figure, the only one we have ever seen of this personality.
He stands with a walking stick on a red brick pathway, a heavy sabre at his side and sombrero tilted to the back of his head.
One hand is in the pocket of his jacket, which is rust red with black lace cording at the front, has multiple lace knots decorating the sleeves and trousers.
